When you’re in the midst of planning your wedding, it can feel like a daunting task to find ways to make your big day stand out from all the rest. Your wedding day is a HUGE day. It will probably be one of the biggest days of your life—for sure the biggest party you will ever plan. And, when I think about parties I think of FUN.

As a wedding planner, I have worked with my clients to create wow moments to keep their guests talking for months after the wedding. Below is a list of fun ideas that my couples have incorporated into their day!

1. Brunch Wedding Affair

Hosting a brunch wedding allows you to celebrate the day away with your family and friends. You wake up, you get ready, you get married and then you CELEBRATE! The guests are always in awe and they don’t have to wait around all day in anticipation of celebrating with you.

2. Offbeat Wedding Foods

Food is often the most important detail for couples on their wedding day. Food stations are a fun way to incorporate foods that you love and also to give your guests an interactive experience. You can divide the stations into different cultural cuisines, your favorite eats or even foods that you will enjoy on your honeymoon. Food stations are a great way to decrease wait times for your guests and to give them a more personalized experience.

3. Cocktail Hour Entertainment

Cocktail hour is the time to get the party started! It sets the tone for the wedding and loosens up the atmosphere for your guests. If you love a 70s rock band but want to offer a wide array of music for the dance, consider hiring the band for the cocktail hour. Or if you’re hosting a Wisconsin Barn Wedding, you could consider hiring a traditional square dance band and caller to teach your guests something new!

4. Kids Fun Area

Having kids at your wedding? Set up an area that is just for them. Chic white bounce houses can be found in most areas. Dress it up with a trendy balloon garland in your wedding colors and let the fun begin! If you really want to wow the kids and their parents, find a couple of experienced babysitters to help watch over the fun. You could also include mini arcade games, a caricature artist, a cotton candy machine and more! What is even better is that you could enjoy the fun with your new spouse!

5. Honor Your (fur)Children

I love when clients personalize their wedding day. And, since most venues won’t allow your furry friends to attend the wedding. Why not make them into a signature dessert or cocktail?

It’s easy to create a unique experience for your wedding guests. Choose one of the ways in the article or get even more creative! The options are endless and your guests will love it.
