How to Hire the Right Entertainment 🎤

As you prepare for the big day, there is a lot to consider when it comes to entertainment.

Questions to ask when making your decision:

  • Are you open for my date? Don't get into too much if they are not.

  • How long have you been in the DJ Business? They should have some experience under their belt to perform your special day.

  • What is your pricing? Make sure that you know what you are paying for. Ask about what package includes and if there are any extra fees and travel charges.

  • Will you be the one to DJ or someone else? This is a big question to ask. You don't want to expect one person and another one to come who is inexperienced.

  • Do you do the MC? The DJ should MC to keep the crowd engaged all night with announcements, presenting the grand march, dances, and all other things you want talked about in the mic.

  • How do you move the crowd? If you have nobody dancing, one big key thing is to have a Du experienced to get the crowd on the dance floor.

  • What are your reviews like? Look at reviews on Google, social media, or previous weddings.

  • Can I see your setup photos/ videos? A professional DJ will have tons of photos and videos.
It's very disrespectful to see someone sitting down hiding behind a table or with cords and cables all over the place. This tells us they don't take pride in a nice clean setup.

  • Do you offer Photo Booth? Photo booths can be a fun memory for you and your guests.

  • Do you have insurance? Insurance protects them along with you and your wedding guests.

The reason why you hired a DJ is for them to entertain the crowd with good music!

  • What is your style of music? Make sure they have the selection of music you are looking for current and older songs.

  • Can we make the playlist? This is fine to ask but do not go all out with this. You are paying good money for the DJ - they know what to do.

  • How do you take requests? There are a lot of DJs that simply do not take requests. Make sure if you want the DJ to take a request you talk about it beforehand. (Grizzly Entertainment loves taking requests.)

Selecting your entertainment can be overwhelming. Make sure the communication is there from start to finish, always checking back in with the DJ from time to time through the process, and get everything in writing. Having a DJ who is experienced and knows how to keep your day flowing right is very important for your big day!
