Start by asking: Are They Family?

YES · THEY ARE FAMILY

ARE THEY IMMEDIATE FAMILY?

1 · Yes: Have you spoken in the last 5 years?

2 · Yes: Invite!

3 · No: Would you be upset if they didn’t invite you to their wedding?

4 · Yes: Can you imagine your big day without them?

· If Yes, don’t invite. If No, invite!

5 · No: Don’t invite

6 · No: Are they immediate family of the partner of immediate family? (ex: grandparents)

· Yes: Follow questions 1 - 5

· No: Do you like them? If Yes, follow questions 1 - 5. If No, follow questions 3 -5

NO · THEY ARE NOT FAMILY

ARE THEY A FRIEND?

1 · Yes: Have you spoken in the last 5 years?

2 · Yes: Have you spoke in the last 6 months?

3 · Yes: Can you imagine your big day without them?

· If Yes, don’t invite. If No, invite!

4 · No: Would you be upset if they didn’t invite you to their wedding?

· If Yes, follow question 3. If No, don’t invite

5 · No: Don’t Invite

6 · No: Are they a coworker?

7 · Yes: Have you spent time outside of work together?

· If Yes, follow question 4. If No, don’t invite.

8 · No: Are they an ex?

9 · Yes: Follow questions 3 - 5 · No: Don’t invite
