Tips to Enhance Your Bridal Makeup Experienceđź’„

Here are 5 tips to make sure your wedding day makeup is as gorgeous as you are!
1. Start new skin care regimens at least 3 months before your big day
With any new products getting introduced to your skin, you want to give it plenty of time for your skin to adjust. Always consult an esthetician to make sure you are using the right products for glowing, healthy skin!
2. Makeup Trials are a must
Food is often the most important detail for couples on their wedding day. Food stations are a fun way to incorporate foods that you love and also to give your guests an interactive experience. You can divide the stations into different cultural cuisines, your favorite eats or even foods that you will enjoy on your honeymoon. Food stations are a great way to decrease wait times for your guests and to give them a more personalized experience.
3. Trust your gut (and your artist)
If there is something you don’t love about your makeup look, tell your artist! It doesn’t help anyone to leave the application unhappy. If you don’t like it, you won’t like how you look, and then you won’t recommend your artist to others. Also, remember your artist is not as familiar with your face as you are (duh)! I always tell my brides, this is (usually) the first time I’m seeing you, so even if I don’t nail the look the first time, please trust that we will get to a beautiful result if you are open and honest with me.
4. Dermaplaning is a game-changer
If you want to get that flawless foundation look on your wedding day, consult an esthetician about dermaplaning. Dermaplaning will help get rid of any dead skin and peach fuzz, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and leave you with a brighter complexion! Makeup can then seamlessly melt into your skin, avoiding looking “cakey” and achieving that flawless finish.
5. Accept reality in inspiration
I always ask brides to bring inspiration photos with them to a trial, so we know what vibe we are going after. Please remember that most makeup images found online are heavily altered. My recommendation is to find inspiration photos from your artist’s past work. This way, you know they can achieve the look you are going for!
